FAQ
Frequently asked questions
By reimbursing the actual cost of the kWh actually charged into the company car. In Luxembourg, electricity is a running cost of the car, covered by the flat-rate benefit in kind (grand-ducal regulation of 23 December 2016): reimbursing the actual cost does not create an additional benefit. Voltaback measures every charging session, applies the actual price of the employee's contract and generates a statement per vehicle every month. No hardware is needed.
No. There is no official flat rate per kWh in Luxembourg. A monthly flat amount not backed by measurement, or an amount higher than the actual cost, is treated as taxable salary. Reimbursement at actual cost, justified session by session, is the reliable method, and it is what Voltaback automates.
At the actual price of their electricity contract, in Belgium, Germany or France. Nearly one employee in two in Luxembourg is a cross-border worker, and household electricity costs around €0.36/kWh in Belgium and €0.38/kWh in Germany, compared with around €0.27/kWh in Luxembourg: a single price under-reimburses part of your workforce. Voltaback applies each person's own tariff, with no charger, on a standard socket or an existing charger, in a house or a shared residential building.
Every charging session is identified by vehicle and documented (date, duration, kWh, amount), which makes fraud impossible and gives you a statement you can rely on in an audit.
