Yes. On recent connected vehicles, data comes through natively via the manufacturer's interface, with no box to fit and no installation. A box is only useful on older, non-connected vehicles. Voltaback is a 100% software solution, up and running from day one.
Geolocation tracks the vehicle's position in real time. In Luxembourg, vehicle geolocation by the employer counts as monitoring within the meaning of Article L.261-1 of the Labour Code: employees and the staff delegation must be informed beforehand, and the delegation can refer the matter to the CNPD. Telematics uses vehicle usage data, such as mileage, consumption, maintenance and eco-driving, to manage the fleet. Voltaback focuses on this management data, without sending drivers' positions to the company.
